My name is Bex. I have been working as a professional graphic desinger for London based desing agencies for over 5 years now. I have a background in fine art and Ayanami is my attempt to get back into drawing and illustration as well as tell (what I hope is) an interesting story.

Ayanami has been in the works on and off (mostly off) for about a year now. This website and it's sister blog iamayanami.wordpress.com/ exist right now to make me feel a little better about how far I haven't got with this project. In the time so far the details of the story and characters has changed quite dramatically but the plot and overall themes of the story have stayed exactly the same. I guess I know what story I want to tell - but am just having a hard time pinpointing how to tell it and what world to set my story in.

Why am I making a graphic novel anyway?

In many years time when (hopefully) i am ayanami is selling a few copies to my friends out of a independent comic publishers, someone might wonder why I wanted to make a graphic novel in the first place. So, to aid procrastination as I have writers block right now, I decided to write this a blog post about it - feeling all web 2.0. It may be useful to someone one day - or just for my own reference in case I start to wonder why I took on such a big project... The post is here.
